HEAD REGION.
1)) Pituitary:Pituitary gland is present in brain.It has been classified into two types:
a) Anterior Pituitary: Controls normal body growth, Promotes growth and development of mammary glands and milk production,stimulates secretion from adrenal cortex of adrenal gland,stimulates thyroxine secretion from thyroid gland,etc.
b) Posterior Pituitary: Regulates water and electrolytic balance and contraction of blood vessels, causes contraction of uterine muscles during child birth.
2)) Hypothalamus:Regulates secretion of hormones from pituitary gland.
NECK REGION.
3)) Thyroid:Promotes tissue metabolism of carbohydrates, proteins and fats,promotes movements of calcium ions from blood to bones.
4)) Parathyroid: Regulates calcium and phosphorus level in blood.
ABDOMINAL REGION.
5)) Adrenal:Regulates Sodium and Potassium concentration in blood,stimulates development of secondary sexual characters.
6)) Pancreas: Lowers blood sugar level by converting blood glucose into glycogen for storage.
7)) Ovaries:Oestrogen:Controls normal development of female genital organs and secondary sexual characters.
8)) Testes: Male reproductive organs essential for producing offsprings.
