b) These names are used for daily usage by the family members. They are used to call the cat for lunch, breakfast, bath, dinner, walking out etc.

C. There are particular, specific and unique names given to cats. They are like nicknames. These are peculiar and dignified too.
These names make the cat proud that it erects its tail and spreads its whiskers. They are like Quaxo, Coricopat, Jellylorum, Bombalurina.

2. Personification is used in this poem. Cats are given human characteristics like having nick names, being proud, thinking, meditating etc.

3. Personification is used because the author doesn't want to hurt people's feelings directly on his message. Eliot wants to say that people have three names or identities. One is given name. Second is the nick name given by family or friends. The nick name is unique and often sounds love and dignity. The third name is synonymous with one's innerself. The super ego of the person and what he/she wants to be.
