Explanation:

The boy began the day by picking a heavy shotgun…one that was worthy of the Greybeard! At dawn, the hunters met in the valley and drew lots to decide their positions. The boy drew a position close to the river, not a favorite with hunters as they preferred one near the cliffs where there was more chance to get their kills. However, the boy’s dad exchanged his position near the cliff with him. This excited the boy and he took up a good position that gave him a good line of fire. As he waited in the bushes, he heard the drums and the barking dogs. Greybeard should be on his way, he thought. Just then he appeared in the clearing, and his eyes stared towards the boy. The boy had to just press the trigger, but the beauty and majesty of the Greybeard enchanted him. A few seconds later, Greybeard leapt and disappeared. The boy had learnt a great lesson on the first day of his hunt - the virtue of kindness.
