It is counted as to be approximately 2500 tigers present in India. This is indeed an exceptional achievement considering few years back the tigers were getting slowly extinct
We all know the tiger is not just a charismatic species or just another wild animal living in some far away forest. The tiger is a unique animal which plays a pivotal role in the health and diversity of an ecosystem. Hence, if the tigers go extinct, the entire system would collapse.
Therefore by conserving the tigers you are not only saving their lives which is an indicator of the well being of the ecosystem, but also making sure that we live a little longer as the forests are known to provide ecological services such as clean air, pollination, water, temperature regulation and so on.
