hey. !!!

___________

The system of units including their definitions is often changed to make the measurement of a particular quantity more accurate. The new units are adopted by all the countries which follow the “International System of Units”. All these countries have a National Metrology Institute which takes care that the measurements for all the quantities are done correctly and in proper units which are recognized by them and not any random unit. In India this is done by the National Physical Laboratory at New Delhi. It takes care of both base units (basic units from which other units are derived) and derived units (units formed using base units) and maintains National Standards of measurements. These standards are compared with standards at other NMIs of other countries as well as with International Bureau of Standards in Paris (one of the three main organizations for maintaining standards of measurements).
