Sustainable development and the values to be developed to have sustainable development are as follows:

  • Sustainable development is defined as growth that satisfies present needs without endangering the capacity of future generations to satiate their own.
  • Currently, our environment is being depleted of its resources in the name of development.
  • A collection of core principles known as sustainable development values guide a person's attitude and behavior in a way that promotes sustainability for both the present and future generations.
  • By transforming these values into goals for sustainable development that are tailored to the needs of the nation, sustainable development values encourage sustainable development.
  • The United Nations General Assembly approved a set of core principles known as sustainable development ideals in 2000.
  • These values include freedom, equality, solidarity, tolerance, respect for nature, and shared responsibility.
