The nature, position and size of the image formed by a concave mirror depends on the

position of the object in relation to points P, F and C. The image formed is real for

some positions of the object. It is found to be a virtual image for a certain other

position. The image is either magnified, reduced or has the same size, depending on

the position of the object.

(a) It is desired to obtain an erect image of an object, using a concave mirror of focal

length 20 cm.

18.(i) What should be the range of distance of the object from the mirror?

18.(ii) Will the image be bigger or smaller than the object?

18.(iii) Draw a ray diagram to show the image formation in this case​

The range of distance of the object from the mirror is between 0 cm to 20 cm range .

(ii) The image is bigger than the object .
