The nature, size and position of image of an object
produced by a lens of mirror are as shown below. Identity
the lens/mirror (x) used in each case and draw the
corresponding complete ray diagram. (size of the object
about half of the image)

Nature, and size associate to the position of an object created by a lens

(i) at the middle of the curvature of a  mirror

(ii) between the pole P and focus F of a mirror

(iii) before of a biconvex mirror

(iv) at 2F of a converging lens(v) before a lens

Convex Lenses

  • When the associate degree object is placed at eternity, the image is created at the main target. The scale of the image is very diminished and purpose size.
  • When the associate degree object is placed on the far side of the middle of curvature, the image is created between the middle of curvature and focus. The image size won't be similar because of the object. it'll be diminished in size.
  • When the associate degree object is in the middle of curvature, the image is created at the opposite center of curvature. the scale of the image is the same as compared in the article.
  • When an associate degree object is placed in between the middle of curvature and focus, the image is created behind the middle of curvature. the scale of the image is larger than that of the article.
  • When an associate degree object is placed at the main target, a true image is created for eternity. the scale of the image is way larger than that of the article.
  • When an associate degree object is placed in between focus and optical center, a reflex ion is created. the scale of the image is larger than that of the article.

Concave Lenses

  • When an associate degree object is placed at eternity, a reflex ion is created at the main target. the scale of the image is very diminished and purpose size.
  • When an associate degree object is placed at a finite distance from the lens, a reflex ion is created between the optical center and also the focus of the converging lens.
  • The scale of the image is smaller than that of the article.
