Roosevelt was one of the persons who wanted to take out America of the pangs of the Great Depression.
The New Deal expanded the role of the Federal Government, but it failed to work miserably due to the polio issues and also, due to the effect of the NRA, the fixing of prices and the damaged American business.
It failed to end the great depression.
