On subtracting the first from the second number we have, 5-(-1) =6. On subtracting third from the second number we get, 15–5=10.

In a similar manner on subtracting the fourth from the third number we have, 29–15=14. The different numbers form a series 6,10,14 which are in Arithmetic Progression, hence the next number must be 18; 29+18=47.

Answer:

53

Step-by-step explanation:

Given the next term in the series 1,5,15,29. This may be taken as fibonacci series.  In this series the next term is obtained by adding the previous two terms. The difference between the terms follows a fibonacci series.

So we have 1, 5, 15, 29. The gap between these terms is  4, 10 and 14.

1 + 4 = 5

5 + 10 = 15

15 + 14 = 29

So 4 + 10 = 14 and 14 + 10 = 24

Upon adding 29 + 24 we get 53

hence the next term will be 53.
