Explanation:

We know that the valency of Oxygen is 2 so the oxidation state is -2 Hence let's take the oxidation state of Chromium to be x so

x(4.8 \times {10}^{10}) - 2(9.6 \times {10}^{10}) = 0 = >

4.8 \times {10}^{10}(x - 4) = 0 = > x = 4

Hence the oxidation state is 4 so one atom of Chromium is oxidised by two atoms of Oxygen so Empirical formula is CrO2. Hope it helps you.
