Probability

The number of members in 20 families is given.

From the data given , it can be found out that,

Number of families having 2 members =5

Number of families having 3 members =5

Number of families having 4 members =4

Number of families having 5 members =3

Number of families having 6 members =3

Probability that the random chosen family has 4 members =\frac{4}{20}=\frac{1}{5}

1) So, percentage of family having 4 members =\frac{1}{5}\times 100=20\%

Probability that the random chosen family has more than 3 members =\frac{(4+3+3)}{20}=\frac{10}{20}=\frac{1}{2}

2) So, percentage of family having more than 3  members =\frac{1}{2}\times 100=50\%
