Answer:

If cytokinesis did not occur during mitosis the cytoplasm wouldn't be divided and there wouldn't be two identical daughter cells as a result. so the cell would remain to be at rest not being able to separate into two individual cells.

Answer:

Cytokinesis is the division of cytoplasm after mitosis.

Explanation:

  • Mitosis can occur even if cell fails to divide because mitosis occur before the cytokinesis.
  • In this case the cell will double in content and so on because nucleus  keeps on dividing (karyokinesis) and it won't produce daughter cells.

In animal cytokinesis take place by furrow or cleavage method which starts from periphery and proceed towards center. If microfilament  fails to function then it will inhibit cytokinesis (centripetal process).

In plants it occur by the cell plate method which starts from center and proceed towards the periphery through microtubule. (centrifugal process).
