The Parabola  " y² = 4 a x " is symmetric with respect to x-axis.

⇒ This Parabola passes through the Origin (0 , 0).

Y-axis is a tangent to the Curve at Origin (0 , 0).

Chord:-

  • It is a Line Segment.
  • It joins any two points on any curve.

So there in no such chord that makes a Right Angle at the Vertex.

Only the Tangent Line makes a Right Angle with the Axis of Parabola.

Slope of Tangent in this case is Undefined ( ∞ ).
