It was annexed to the French Empire ( Liguria,Piedmont, Piacenza,  Parma, Tuscany, & Rome)

Explanation:

  • After Napoleon rose to power, Italy was again invaded by "the French". Under Napoleon, Italy was divided into 3 entities: northern parts was annexed to "the French Empire" (Liguria, Piedmont, Piacenza, Parma,  Rome, & Tuscany), the newly formed "Italy Kingdom" (Venice, Lombardy,  Modena, Reggio, the Marshes. & Romagna) which was ruled by Napoleon himself, & last the "Naples Kingdom" which was 1st ruled by Napoleon’s "brother Joseph Bonaparte", however, later was passed to Napoleon’s "brother-in-law Joachim Murat".
  • In several respects, the French time of conquest and occupation was important. It introduced "revolutionary ideas" concerning theory was radical, with the result that an old political system was overthrown and feudalism shed its last vestiges. Freedom & equality ideals were very important. The concept of nationalism had also come about and was therefore sown the "seeds of nationalism"  in most areas of the central & north  Italian peninsula.
