Northern Plains is divided into three sections:-

a) Punjab Plains.

b) Ganges Plains.

c) Brahmaputra Plains.

= Punjab Plain:- It is formed by the rivers Indus and its five tributearies are Jhelum , Chenab , Ravi , Sutlej and Beas.

= Ganges Plains:-The Plain is formed by the river Ganges and its tributearies are Uttar pradesh , Delhi , Bihar , Harayana and Bengal

= Brahmaputra:- It is built by he Brahmaputra and its tributes are Assam plain.
