Answer:

Correct question:

If the end points of the diameter of a circle are (2,4) and (-3,-1) then find the radius of the circle.

Solution:

Note:

Distance formula:-

The distance between two points, (x1,y1) and (x2,y2) is given by;

d = {(x2-x1)^2 + (y2 - y1)^2}

Here,

The end points of the diameter are (2,4) and (-3,-1).

Hence,

The length of diameter is given by;

=> d = √{(-3-2)^2 + (-1-4)^2}

=> d = √{(-5)^2 + (-5)^2}

=> d = √{25 + 25}

=> d = √50

=> d = 5√2 units

Also, we know that;

radius = diameter/2

=> r = d/2

=> r = 5√2/2 units

Or

=> r = 5/√2 units

Hence, the radius of the given circle is :

52/2 units.
