the nth term of a sequence is n2+20. work out the first three terms of the sequence

Answer:

an =a+(n-1)d

so...given an=n2+20

  • ifn=1..then a1=2 (1)+20=22
  • if n=2. .then a2=2 (2)+20=24
  • if n=3...then a3=2 (3)+20=26

so the first three terms of the sequence are 22, 24 and 26
