Nth term = an = 7-4n
first term = a1 = 7-4(1) = 7-4 = 3
second term = a2 = 7-4(2) = 7-8 = -1
second term - first term = a2 - a1 = common difference(d)
= -1-3 = -4

The nth term of the sequence is 7-2n.

let the first term of the sequence will be a , It is obtained by substituting n=1.

a = 7-2(1)

=7-2

t1=5.

The second term is t2 = 7-2(2)=7-4=3.

The third term is t3= 7-2(3)= 7-6=1.

The common difference is obtained by dividing the first term from the second term.

t2-t1 = 3-5

=-2.

t3-t2= 1-3
