Solution :-

given that,

→ A(n) = 4n + 5

so, putting n = 1, first term of given AP will be,

→ A(1) = 4 * 1 + 5 = 4 + 5 = 9

and, putting n = 2, second term of given AP will be,

→ A(2) = 4 * 2 + 5 = 8 + 5 = 13

then,

→ Common difference = A(2) - A(1) = 13 - 9 = 4 .

therefore,

→ A(3) = A(2) + common diffence = 13 + 4 = 17 (Ans.)

Or,

→ A(3) = 4 * 3 + 5 = 12 + 5 = 17 .
