The Nth term of an arithmetic sequence is 3n+2 . Find the sum of it's first 24 term ?

Answer:

if the nth term is given

and sum of 24 terms is asked thus put n= 24

3(24)+2 =74

thus the 24th term is 74

for getting the first term out n=1

3(1)+2

=5

thus the 1st term is 5

for finding the sum of 24 terms use the formula

Sum = n/2(a+l)

where a is first term and l is last term

thus

24/2(5+74)

12× 79
