One number is x and other number is 77-x
X(77-x)=11(110)
Xv2-77x+1210=0
(x-55)(x-22)=0
X=55 or22

Answer:

The smallest of two parts is 22

Step-by-step explanation:

Given The number 77 is divided into two parts such as that hcf of two parts is 11 and their lcm is 110. we have to find the smallest of two.

we know , Product of two numbers = (LCM)(HCF)

Let one part is x therefore the other part is (77-x)

∴ x(77-x)=11(110)

77x-x^2=1210

x^2-77x+1210=0

x^2-55x-22x+1210=0

x(x-55)-22(x-55)=0

(x-22)(x-55)=0

⇒ x=22,55

Hence the two parts are 22 and 55

∴ the smallest of two parts is 22
