It is given that when a number is decreased by 12.5% gives 441.

Let the required number be a,

According to the question :

= > a decreased by 12.5 % = 441

= > a - 12.5% = 441

= > a - ( 12.5 / 100 ) = 441

= > a - ( 125 / 1000 ) = 441

= > a = 441 + ( 125 / 1000 )

= > a = ( 441000 + 125 ) / 1000

= > a = 441125 / 1000

= > a = 441.125

Hence the required numeric number is 441.125.

Let the number be X.

Then according to the question-

x-12.5% of x =441

=X - (125/1000)x =441

=x -125x/1000=441

=(1000x-125x)/1000=441

=(1875x)=441000

=x=441000÷1875

=x=235.2

Hope this helps.
