\huge\bold{Solution :}

✬ Total Strength = 48 ✬

Step-by-step explanation :-

\huge\bold{Given :-}

  • Ratio boys and girls in the class is 7 : 5.
  • number number of boys is 8 more than the number of girls.

\huge\bold{To \:Find :-}

  • What is the total class strength ?

Solution : Let assume that x is the common in given ratios. so,

➟ Boys = 7x..........(i)

➟ Girls = 5x

A/q

Boys = 8 more than 5x

Boys = (5x + 8)..........(ii)

➬ Equation 1 = 2

7x = 5x + 8

7x - 5x = 8

2x = 8

x = 8/2

x = 4

Now put the value of x in above ratios.

  • Boys = 7 × 4 = 28

  • Girls = 5 × 4 = 20

.°. Class strength = Boys + Girls

28 + 20

48

Hence, total class strength / number of students is 48.

Hope it's helpful :)
