Hey,
Let the no. of girls be y,
So, ATQ,
No. of boys = 8+y.
Now,
8+y:y=7:5
8+y/y=7/5
On cross multiplication,
40+5y=7y
-2y=-40
y=20.
Therefore, no. of boys =28 and no. of girls =20.
Total strength of the class =28+20=48.
Hope this helps you buddy!!

Let the number of girls be x, so number of boys are (x + 8)
So, according to the question..
(x + 8):x = 7:5
or, 5x + 40 = 7x
or, 2x = 40
or, x = 20
So number of girls are 20 & number of boys are 28
So total number of students are 48(Ans)...
Hope it helped you a lot....
