Step-by-step explanation:

Let the common ratio between number of boys and girls be x

Number of boys =7x

Number of girls =5x

As per the question,

Number of boys = Number of girls +8

7x=5x+8

Transpose 5x to LHS, we will get

7x−5x=8

2x=8

Divide both sides by 2

x=4

No. of boys =7x=7×4=28

No. of girls =5x=5×4=20

Total class students 28+20=48

Given ;

The number of boys and girls in a class are in the ratio 5 : 3 .

~~~~~~~~~~~\frac{Number \:of \:boys}{Number \:of \:girl} = \frac{5}{3}
So let the boys strength be = 5x
And let the girls strength be = 3x
Given ;
The number of girls is 10 more than the number of boys .
Number of boys = Number of girl × 10
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~→ 5x  = 3x + 10

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~→ 5x - 3x = 10
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~→ 2x = 10

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~→ x = \frac{10}{2}
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~→ x = \frac{\cancel10^{5}}{\cancel2_{1}}

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~→ x = 5
Therefore ;
Number of boys = 5x = 5(5) = 25
Number of girls = 3x = 3(5) = 15
Total class strangth = Number of boy + Number of girl
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ = 25 + 15 = 40

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~= 40
Total class strangth = 40 student
