the number of boys and girls in a class are in the ratio 7 ratio 5 the number of boys is 8 more than the number of girls what is a total class strength?

let the number of boys be 7x and girls be 5x.

ATQ,

7x - 8 = 5x

=> 2x = 8

Thus x = 4

Girls = 5(4)
=> Girls = 20

Boys = 7(4)
=> Boys = 28

Thus total class strength = 20 + 28
=> 48
