Given:-

The number of boys and girls in a class are in the ratio 7:5.

The number of boys is 8

more than the number of girls.

To Find:-

The total class strength?

Now,

Let the ratio of number of girls be "x"

→ No. of boys = 5x

Atq.

→ Number of Boys = Number of girls + 8

→ 7x = 5x + 8

→ 7x - 5x = 8

→ 2x = 8

→ x = 8/2

→ x = 4

Therefore,

Number of girls = 5x → 5 × 4 → 20

→ Number of Boys = 20 + 8 → 28

Hence, The Total Strength is 20 + 28 48 Boys.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the number of boys be 7x

let the number of girls be 5x

According to the question

7x = 5x + 8

7x - 5x = 8

2x = 8

x = 8/2

x = 4

The number of boys = 7x = 7 × 4 = 28

The number of girls = 5x = 5 × 4 = 20

The total class strength = 28 + 20 = 48
