Answer:

no of boys=7 x

no of girls= 5x

7x-5x=8 (since boys are 8 more in number)

2x=8

X=4

so boys=7×4=28

girls=5×4=20

Answer:

total strength of class = 48 students

Step-by-step explanation:

given the ration of boys to girls = 7:5

let x be the proportion,

then no. of boys = 7x

and no. of girls = 5x

also, given that 7x = 5x+8

=> 7x-5x = 8

=> 2x = 8

=> x = 8/2 = 4

=> no. of boys = 7*4 = 28

and no. of girls = 5*4 = 20

=> total strength of class = 28+20 = 48
