The number of boys and girls in a class are in the ratio7:5.
=>let bouys be b and gorls be g
=> b:g = 7:5
=>the number of boys is 8 more than the girls.
=> b = g+8
lets form an equation
=>
=>
=>lets cross multiply
=>7*g = 5[g+8]
=>7g = 5g + 40
=>7g - 5g = 40
=>2g = 40
=>g = 20
gorls are 20
since boys = g +8
= 20+8
=28
total strenght = 28+20
= 48 students
