Given,

Ratio of boys and girls that took the test = 9:7

Ratio of number of boys and girls  qualified exam = 3:2

Percentage of girls qualified in exam = 60%

To find,

Percentage of boys qualified in exam

Solution,

Let us consider number of boys = 9

Number of girls = 7

Given, 60% of girls qualified the exam.

Here, \frac{60}{100}(7) = 4.2

Given , 3:2 boys to girls , qualified the exam,

So 2 parts = 4.2

And, 1 part will be 2.1

As boys qualified is 3 parts, = 3(2.1) = 6.3

Let's find the percentage.

\frac{6.3}{9}(100)

= 70%

Hence, percentage of boys who qualified in exam is 70%.
