the number of boys in a school is 334 more than the number of girls . if the total strength of the school is 572. find the number of girls in the school.

let the number of girls =x

the number of boys =x+334

the total strength of the school is 572

x+x+334=572

2x+334=572

2x=572-334=238

x=238/2

x =119

therefore the number of girls in the school is 119
