the number of boys in a school is 334 more than the number of girls if the total strength of the school is 572 find the number of girl in the school ​

Solution :

In this question, It is given the number of boys in a school is 334 more than the number of girls if the total strength of the school is 572 .

Total Number of Students in a School = 572

Let the number of girls in the School be y and Let the number of boys be x

Now, { the number of boys in a school is 334 more than the number of girls }

☛ x = 334 + y. ----(1)

Also, Number of Boys + Number of Girls = Strength of School

x + y = 572

x = 572 - y. ------(2)


From Equation 1 and 2

334 + y = 572 - y

238 = 2y

•°• y = 119


Therefore, Number of Girls in a School is 119.

given that no. of boys = 334 + no. of girls

=> x = y+334.......[1]

total strength of the school = 572

=> no. of boys + no. of girls => 572

=> x+y= 572......[2]

from [1] and [2]

y+334+y = 572

2y+334=572

2y=572-334

2y=238

y=238/2

y=119

therefore the no. of girls in the school =119.
