Given : the number of cases of a new disease can be modeled by the quadratic regression equation y=-2x²+36x+6

To find : Which is the best prediction for the number of new cases in year 15? A. 194 B. 96 C. 328 D. 614

Solution:

y =  -2x²+36x+6

to estimate prediction for the  number of cases in Year 15

we just need to put x = 15

as x represent the year

y will represent the number of New cases in that year

y = - 2(15)² + 36(15)  + 6

=> y = -2(225)  + 540 + 6

=> y = -450 + 546

=> y = 96

96 is  the best prediction for the number of new cases in year 15
