Reaction  :  NH3 + HCL → NH4Cl

from equation we can deduce the facts that = 1 mole of NH3 react with 1 mol of HCL to give 1 mol of NH4CL

∴ 0.5 mol of NH3 will react with 0.5 mol of HCL to give 0.5 mole of NH4CL

hence excessive amount of NH4CL is present in system by 0.5
