\huge\bf{Answer :}

Here ,

k shell is the first shell of any particular atom.

n = 1

We know that ,

Formula of the number of electrons accomodated in any particular atom = 2n²

Putting the value of n = 1 in 2n² , we get

Number of shells = 2 × 1²

2 Electrons ✔️

Hence , there are total 2 electrons that can be accommodated in the first shell of the atom.

\huge\bf{Extra\: Information :}

⇒ The smallest particle of a substance can be defined as atom.

⇒ If we keep on dividing a particular object in peices , there comes a time , when we comes across the smallest particle which cannot be divided further in smaller pieces by the means of breaking , this particle is referred as an atom.

Atom is made up of sub-atomic particles that are electron , proton and neutron.

Atom is also referred as building blocks ( units ) of a matter.
