The percent change in the number of employees in the company from 2016 to 2017 will be 60%.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the total number of employees in the company is x in 2016.

So, the total number of employees in the company  in branch a is 32% of x i.e. 0.32x.

Now, from 2016 to 2017 the number of employees in branch a increased by 25%.

So. the total number of employees in the branch in 2017 will be 0.32x(1 + \frac{25}{100}) = 0.4x.

Again, while the number of employees in branch a as a percentage of the total number of employees of company decreases by 7 % i.e. it becomes (32 - 7) = 25%.

Therefore, the total number of employees in the company in 2017 will be y such that, 25% of y = 0.4x

⇒ 0.25y = 0.4x

y = 1.6x

Hence, the percent change in the number of employees in the company from 2016 to 2017 will be \frac{1.6x - x}{x} \times 100\% = 60\% (Answer)
