\Large\mathsf{ \: Solution:-}

Given

A sheet of paper 3 m 24 cm by 1 m 72 cm.

Each envelope requires a piece of paper of size 18 cm by 12 cm.

Find the area of sheet of paper :-

Area of rectangle = (Length × Breadth) sq. units

= (324 × 172) cm²

= 55728 cm²

Find the area of each envelope :-

Area of each envelope = (18 × 12) cm²

= 216 cm²

Number of envelopes = Area of paper / Area of each envelope

= 55728 / 216

= 258

Hence,

258 envelopes can be made.
