Step-by-step explanation:

Let the numerator be x and the denominator be y

Atq,

x=y-5----(1)

x+2/y-5+2=3/4

x+2/y-3=3/4

4(x+2)=3(y-3)

4x+8=3y-9

4x=3y-9-8

4x=3y-17

4(y-5)=3y-17 [from equation (1)]

4y-20=3y-17

4y-3y= -17+20

y=3

putting the value of y in equation(1)

x=3-5

x= -2

hence the original fraction is -2/3.
