The number of planks of dimensions 32cm×25cm×20cm that can be cut out from a wooden log of dimensions 8m×2m×50cm is:​

dimensions of log = 800cm × 200cm × 50cm

volume of log = l×b×h = 800×200×50

= 8000000 cm^3

volume of plank = 32 × 25 × 20

=16000 cm^3

no. of planks = 8000000 ÷ 16000

= 500 planks

Volume of wooden log = 8 x 2 x 50 = 800 cubic m

Volume of plank = 0.32 x 0.25 x 0.2 = 0.016 cubic m

So number of planks = volume of log/ volume of plank
= 800/ 0.016
= 50000
