it intersect x-axis if

f (x) = 0

x ³ −1= 0

(x−1)(x ² +x+1)=0

⇒(x−1)=0 or (x ² +x+1)=0

⇒x=1 because (x ² +x+1)=0 has no real roots.

∴ it intersect at x-axis at only one point x=1.
