Answer:

i)Green balls=28

ii)Cost of each blue ball=$0.50

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the no of green balls=x

Acc to question;

Blue balls=x+10

Red balls=2(x+10)=2x+20

Now,

i)  x+x+10+2x+20=142

4x+30=142

4x=142-30

4x=112

x=112/4

x=28

ii)   No of blue balls=x+10

=28+10

=38

No of red balls= 2(38)

=76

Total cost of red balls=$2.50(76)

=$190

Total cost of green balls=$1.50(28)

=$42

acc to question;

42+190+total cost of blue balls=251

232+total cost of blue balls=251

total cost of blue balls=251-232

total cost of blue balls=$19

Cost of each blue ball=19/38

     =$0.50

Step-by-step explanation:

Green ball = c

blue ball = b= c +10

red ball =a= 2 (c +10)

from given condition

c+c+10+2c+20=142

4c+30=142

4c=142-30=112

c=112/4 =28

no.of balls

b =c+10 =28+10=38

a=2(c+10)

a= 2(38) =76

cost of balls

a =76*2.50= $190

c =28*1.50=$42

total cost =a+b+c

251=190+42+b

251=232+b

251-232=b

$19=b

1) 28 balls

2) $ 19
