the number of stickers bina had to the number of sticky siti had was in the ratio 3:4.when siti gave 2 stickers to bina they had the same number of stickers how many sticker did bina have at first.​

Given :

Bina and Siti have stickers in the ratio 3:4.

Siti gives two stickers to Bina then the number of Stickers  with both of them are same.

To Find:

Number of stickers with Bina.

Solution:

The given question can be solved using the following mathematical calculations.

1) let the number of stickers with Bina be x and the number of stickers with Siti be y.

therefore according to the question  \frac{x}{y}=\frac{3}{4}(consider it as equation 1).

2) Now , Since Siti gives 2 of her Stickers to Bina , so the number of stickers with Bina becomes x+2 and the number of stickers with Siti becomes y-2.

3) Now both of them have the same number of stickers with them, therefore  mathematically

=> x+2 = y-2

On calculating the above equation we get,

=> y-x = 4.(consider it as equation 2)

4) Now , from equation 1 , i.e   \frac{x}{y}=\frac{3}{4} , we get 4x=3y ( sending denominators to other sides respectively)

5) Substitute the value of x =\frac{3y}{4} in equation 2 i.e,

y-(3y/4)=4,

=> On calculation we get y=16 (Siti).

6) Therefore value of x can be obtained by substituting in equation 1 i.e,

x=12 (Bina).

Therefore the number of stickers with Bina and Siti are 12 and 16 respectively.
