The number of stomata is greater on the lower surface pf a dicot plant because transpiration is less on the lower surface. On the day time transpiration is much more on upper surface of the dicot plant and sunlight is reflect on the upper surface of the leaf therefore it is easy to transpirate water from the upper leave of the dicot plant. And for occurrence of transpiration there is less sunlight which will not in sufficient amount for occurrence of transpiration and therefore more stomata more will be the transpiration occur in the leaves of a dicot plant.
