  • The number of the boys is 8 more than the number of girls.

To find :

  • The strength of the class =?

Step-by-step explanation :

Let, the number of girls be, 5x.

Then, the number of boys be, 7x.

It is Given that,

The number of the boys is 8 more than the number of girls.

As per question,

5x + 8 = 7x

7x - 5x = 8

2x = 8

x = 8/2

x = 4

Therefore, We got the value of, x = 4.

Hence,

Number of girls, 5x = 5 × 4 = 20

Number of boys, 7x = 7 × 4 = 28.
