hey mate here is the answer

the element is silicon there are 14 electrons in a silicon atom. there are two electrons in shell one, eight in shell two, and four in shell three.

vacant orbital
An orbital is nothing but space allotted to electrons. If no electrons are present, it is simply called a vacant orbital.
or
It means the electron is missing from that orbit, ie, there is a vacant orbit.

Silicon is element number 14 so it has 14 electrons. The orbitals available for silicon are 1s, 2s, 2p, 3s and 3p. The electrons fill the 1s, 2s, 2p and 3s orbitals and place the last two electrons in the 3p orbitals. Silicon has four valance electrons. Two come from the 3s orbital and 2 come from the 3p orbitals.

hope this helps you
