SOLUTION:

We have given that, the length is 2 m more than twice its breadth.

Let the length of the pool be 'L' m and breadth be 'B' m

According to question:-

$\bf{\longrightarrow L = 2B+2....1) }$

We have given, the perimeter of rectangular pool is 154.

We know that, the formula for finding the perimeter of rectangular pool is:-

$\large{\boxed{\bf{\star \: PERIMETER = 2(L +B) \: \star}}}$

According to question:-

On putting the values in the formula, we get

$\rm{\longrightarrow 154 = 2(2B+2+B) }$ (From equation 1)

$\rm{\longrightarrow 154 = 2(3B +2)}$

$\rm{\longrightarrow \cancel\dfrac{154}{2} = 3B +2 }$

$\rm{\longrightarrow 77-2 = 3B }$

$\rm{\longrightarrow 75 = 3B }$

$\rm{\longrightarrow \cancel\dfrac{75}{3} = B}$

$\bf{\longrightarrow 25 \: m = B }$

Put the value of B in equation 1)

$\rm{\longrightarrow L = 2 \times 25 + 2 }$

$\rm{\longrightarrow L = 50+2}$

$\rm{\longrightarrow L = 52 \: m}$

• LENGTH = L = 52 m
• BREADTH = B = 25 m

Calculation :-

The length is twice the breadth.

Let the length of the pool be 'x' m and breadth be 'y' m

According to question,

x = 2y + 2 ........(1)

So, the perimeter of rectangular pool is 154m .

We know that, the formula for finding the perimeter of rectangular pool is:-

♐ PERIMETER=2(L+B)

We know,

• Perimeter of rectangular pool is 154m.

• The length of the pool be 'x' m .

• The breadth be 'y' m.

✨ PERIMETER of swimming pool =2(L+B)

▶ 154 = 2 (x + y)

▶ 154/2 = (x + y)

▶ 77 = x + y

▶ x + y = 77

From, 1

▶ 2y + 2 + y = 77

▶ 3y = 75

▶ y = 75 /3

▶y = 25 m

Again putting in (1)

x = 2y + 2

➡ x = 2 × 25 + 2

➡ x = 50 +2

➡ x = 52m

So, The length of the pool is 52 m & breadth of the pool is 25 m.
