Here we observe that

No. of observation is odd i.e. n=9

So median is (2n+1)th term

from (I) 5th term from data is 2x−8

Median =(29+1)th term

25=5th term

25=2x−8

2x=25+8

2x=33

x=233

x=16.5

x value is 16.5
