Given that numerator of a fraction is 4 less than its denominator
According to problem
The fraction will be in form (x-4)/x
By adding 1 to both its numerator and denominator it will becomes 1/2 since given
Then [(x-4)+1]/(x+1)=1/2
(x-3)/x+1=1/2
2 (x-3)=x+1
2x-6=x+1
2x-x=6+1
x=7
