let fraction is x/y
numerator decreased = 80x / 100
denominator increased = 120y / 100
fraction will be (80x / 100) / (120y / 100)
= 2x / 3y
% decrease = { (2x / 3y) - (x/y) } ÷ (x/y)
-100/3 = -33.33%
minus value denotes decreased value.
